Giraud Annuls Vichy Decree
Forbidding Jews to Recover
Debts From Aryan Customers

Corp. Bernard Weisberg
Conducts Services

LONDON. (WNS) - General
Henri Giraud, High Commissioner
of French North and West Af-
rica, has annulled the Vichy de-
cree which had made it impos-
sible for Jews in Algeria or Mo-
rocco to recover debts or other
claims from "Aryan" customers
or merchants. The Vichy regula-
tion had invalidated all claims
held by Jews against "Aryans".
Gen Giraud's cancellation of the
Vichy order will enable Jewish
merchants in French Africa to
recover all funds owed to them
by non-Jews.

Cpl. Bernard Weisberg, of 2070
Chicago Blvd, is now stationed
with the medical detachment at
Douglas, Ariz. Last Friday eve-
ning Weisberg conducted the serv-
ices held at the Douglas Air Base.
Weisberg is a former member of
the B'nai Moshe AZA chapter 321
and of the Pisgah Lodge, B'nai
13'•ith.
