say that the blood of the op-

cries out for retribution requires
no documentation. Yes, its cry
summons the hearts of all men
of good will. Those feet touch it
as they pass by and are made
to feel stronger in their will for
justice and to be invigorated in
their march toward its attain-
ment.
So it was with Kurt Oppenhei-
mer's blood. The story, as it
comes to me, is that it cried out
to the heart of every Russian in
Stalingrad who passed by on the
march to the liberation; its touch
gave impulse to their feet. More
than that: Kurt's blood laughed
at the Nazis, at the bitter joke
that after the 10 years had mode
it all right to be spilled for the
Fuehrer. Kurt's blood laughed
and joined the laughter of the
people returning to liberated
Stalingrad. They laughed at
falsehood, hypocrisy and cruelty
brought down at last and Kurt's
blood joined with them in laugh-
ing. Yes, you might say Kurt's
blood helped to break the siege
of Stalingrad.
Well, that's the story. The
Nazis are welcome to use it if
it helps them to prove their com-
plaint that their disasters in Rus-
sia are all on account of the
Jews. It may help them toward
