A committee report submitted by Max H. Goldhoff of Greater
Detroit Bnai Brith Council War Bond Committee to raise one million
dollars to purchase two submarine chasers to help defeat the Axis
U-boat menace is most gratifying. The combined efforts of these
four lodges, Pisgah No. 34, Louis Marshall No. 1207, Theodor Herzl
No. 1374, and East Side, along with Pisgah Auxiliary No. 122, Louis
Marshall Auxiliary, Theodor Herzl Auxiliary, East Side Auxiliary,
Business and Professional Women's Auxiliary, and the A. Z. A. and
the Young Women of Bnai Brith, have made it possible for Greater
Detroit Council Bnai Brith to reach the grand total to date of
$750,000.00. With nine more days to go (closing date of drive, Feb-
ruary 21), the committee feels confident that its four lodges, five
auxiliaries and two junior organizations will not let the Greater Detroit
Bnai Brith Council down.

Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars pro-rated among the
II affiliates of the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Council means only
$22,500 for each group.

Max Goldhoff, reporting for the general committee, wishes to
extend the gratitude of the committee for the excellent work that
everyone has done up to this point in the sale of bonds—the coopera-
tion in attending meetings and the many inconveniences everyone
has been through in an ALL OUT effort to make a success of Greater
Detroit Bnai Brith Council's "Million Dollar War Bond Drive" to
purchase two submarine chasers as our tribute to help defeat the Axis
U-boat menace.

The Axis is doing everything in its power to increase its U-boat
force to cripple Allied shipping—WE MUST attain our goal February
21st, $250,000 to do our part in trying to stop them. As the Sailor
is saying to the Marine on this page, Buddy: "They will NOT let us
down!" the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Council feels confident that
its membership will not let it down.
