There won't be any egg short-
age this year if Sophie Tucker,
mamma of all the red-hot mam-
mas, can help it . . . Sophie's
got scouts looking for a nice
poultry farm for her, and when
she gets it she'll set about set-
ting her setting hens with her
usual energy.
It's getting so that horse-drawn
vehicles attract practically no at-
tention on the boulevards of Man-
hattan, and ere long we'll relearn
the difference between a hansom
and a Landau . . . Among re-
cent visitors to view New York
through the windows of a horse-
powered carriage were Bernard
M. Baruch and Ben Cohen.
