fications for the office of circuit
Court Commissioner.
Mr. Murphy is married and has
three children, and resides in

a member of College Park Ki-
wanis Club.

gathering will also celebrate the
70th anniversary of the Bay City
Lodge.
Samuel IV. Leib, president, will
open the meeting at 10 a. m. at
which time reports from the
standing committees will be giv-
en. This will be followed by a
discussion on the accomplish-
ments and future activity of the
Bnai Brith in the nation, district
and state.
Rabbi Jerome Folkman of
Grand Rapids, president of the
District Grand Lodge No. 6, will
be the principal speaker at the
banquet which will commence at
6 p. m. Rabbi Folkman has been
rabbi of Congregation Emanuel
in Grand Rapids since 1936. In
1938 he was voted the city's
outstanding citizen under 35. He

by the Detroit Round Table of
Catholics, Jews and Protestants
on Sunday evening, Nov. 1, will
be Mrs. Morris Adler of Congre-
gation Shaarey Zedek.
Recent guests on the program,
which is heard over Station
CKLW from 10:15 to 10:30 p.m.,
were Dr. Rose Walsh of Mary-
grove College; Mrs. Alice God-
dard, director of religious edu-
cation, Detroit Council of
Churches; and Mrs. Klune Walsh
of the League of Catholic
Women.
Wednesday, Nov. 4, Rabbi Ad-
ler of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek and Joseph Q. Mayne, ex-
ecutive secretary of the Detroit
Round Table, which is the Michi-
gan region office for the National
Conference of Christians and
Jews, will speak at an Ann Arbor
luncheon meeting to the leaders
of the community in regard to
forming a round table there.

Rabbi Folkman served as presi-
dent of the Council from 1936-38
and was district vice-president in
1940.

this may be the last meeting of
this type for the duration, due to
transportation problems.
The Michigan Bnai Brith Coun-
cil has been instrumental in the
acquisition of the 25-room house
which will be the new Home of
the Hillel Foundation in Ann Ar-
bor. Dedication ceremonies will
take place Sunday, Nov. 1. At
the present the Council is spon-
soring an educational program in
which rabbis visit colleges and
various cities in Michigan and
present talks on Jewish prob-
lems.

for Armistice Day, Wednesday,
Nov. 11.
Planned by Mrs. Max Frank,
chairman of the Inter-Faith
Committee, the Chinese, Negro
and Jewish people will be repre-
::r nted. Speakers will be Mr. A. T.
Lui, vice president of the Ameri-
can section of the Chinese Insti-
tute of Engineers; Dr. J. J. Mc.
Clendon, president of the Nation-
al Association for the Advanc,-
ment of Colored People, and Rab-
bi Leon From of Temple Israel.
Mrs. Milford Pregerson will
give a reading entitled "The
Prophet Amos on Times Square"
and will be accompanied by Mrs.
Rosa Bassin Stein.
Mrs. M. H. Zackheim will give
the invocation at the luncheon.
The meeting is open to the pub-
lic, and will be held in the Bag-
