Referring to the announced
formation of a Palestine Regi-
men t, composed of separate
Arab and Jewish infantry bat-
talions, the committee statement
said: "By - authorizing separate
Jewish units to meet The Men-
ace in the Middle East, our gal-
lant ally Great Britain has be-
gun to acknowledge what should
be done. But she has not yet
gone far enough to do it.
"In Palestine, and the Near
East alone, there are 100,000
able-bodied Jews — apart from
another 100,000 stateless, ex-
patriated victims of Hitler's
merciless march against human-
ity," the advertisement added.
"Among them are thousands of
trained officers and fighters from
t h e vanquished democracies;
and front Germany itself. Their
souls are filled with one desire
. . their strong young bodies
dedicated to one purpose . .
to strike back at Hitler with all
the force and fury of which out-
raged mankind is capable."

Mead of New York this week told
the annual Inter-faith Conference
of Christians and Jews here.
Calling for an Allied counter-
offensive against Axis anti-demo-
cratic propaganda, Senator Mead
said: "There is need for great
haste because the Axis powers
are attempting to confuse these
very sa u te peoples, these potential
agues ot ours, by false statements
concerning oemocracy and our
aims in the war."
The Senators characterized ef-
fective democratic propaganda "as
important as the part played by
the anned forces, as the output
and transportation of food, planes,
guns and tanks." lie urged the
post-war establishment of "an in-
ternational institution motivated
by justice and humanity, in ac-
cordance with the pledge of the
Atlantic Charter."
"We shall look to our religious
leaders for light and vision," he
said, "urging the creation of a
system "which will give every na-
tion, large or small, a greater
assurance of stable peace, greater
opportunity for the realization of
its aspirations to freedom, greater
facilities for material advance-
