KUIBYSHEV (WNS)—David
Bergelson, famous Soviet Jew-
ish writer, proposed this week
that all Jews in Russia wear a
"Mogen David" (Star of David)
to spite the Nazis.

"Not all Jews ever considered
it their duty to wear the ancient
Jewish emblem, but now when
the Nazis consider the Mogen
David a brandmark, Jews who
never thought of wearing the
insignia are demonstratively
wearing it with pride," the writ-
er said. Mr. Bergelson pointed
out that many non-Jews in
France, Belgium and Holland
wore a Mogen David to show

Jews Will not be Compelled
to Leave Post-War Poland

LONDON (WNS) — Expressing
the determination of the Polish
government-in-exile to support the
Jews in their efforts to secure a
Jewish State in Palestine, Polish
Premier Sikorski emphasized this
week that Jews in the post-war
Poland will be free either to re-
main in Poland or to emigrate
to Palestine.
The Polish premier gave this
pledge in behalf of the emigre
Polish government in a message
to the New Zionist Organization
of Great Britain. The statement
was construed as it slap at the
extreme Polish nationalists who
demand the compulsory emigra-
tion of Jews to Palestine after the
war.
"Our sympathies are with the
Jews longing for a national home
