$100,000 Cabled to
Jerusalem for New
Land Purchase
NEW YORK ( WNS) —
su m of $100,000 was cabled to
Jerusalem for the acquisition of
n ew land, according to an an-
nouncement made this week by
Dr. Israel Goldstein, president
of the Jewish National Fund of
America. A total of $1,372,745
has been, made available by
American Jewry for nationaffi, -
owned land to meet the wartime
economy in Palestine since Oct.
1, 1941. Dr. Goldstein retorted
that 101 labor villages have been
established on the land of the
Fund in Palestine, cultivating
325,00(1 dunams of which
000 duna Ins are under irriga-
don. Five years ago there were
76 village's, with 11,600 inhabit-
ants, cultivating
180,000 dun-
n ms, of which 26,000 dunarns
were irrigated.
