torium of the school. The theme
of the brief talks by the mem-
bers of the graduating class was
the "Menorah as a Jewish Sym-
bol", the "Menorah as an Object
of Light," and the "Menorah as
described in the Book of Exodus
and constructed by Bezalel." The
ceremony closed with the pres-
entation of a copper menorah de-
signed and constructed by the
members of the graduating
class.
The joint graduation exercises
was held in the auditorium of
the Philadelphia-Byron School on
Tuesday evening, June 30. A
chorus of 125 boys and girls .

Last week was commencement

Schools. Sunday, June 28, in
the afternoon, the David W. Si-
mons students received their di-
plomats in the auditorium of the
Winterhalter Public School. In-
teresting talks by the pupils,
greetings and singing by the
school chorus were featured. The
central theme of the gradua-
tion talks was "The Book" and
"The People of the Book." In
keeping with this theme, a gift
of books for the junior high
school was presented to the
school by the class.

the National Refugee Service, which, with the Joint Distribution
Committee and United Palestine Appeal, is financed by the United
