Mrs. B. I. Rosenberg, who is
retiring. after 25 years of faith-
ful service as president of the
Jewish Ladies Auxiliary of Bnai
I srae l congregation, was com-
plimented by the auxiliary at a
luncheon Tuesday afternoon at
the Hotel Bancroft gold room.
Short addresses were given by
Mrs. Max Brandle, Mrs. George
Bloom field and Mrs. John lm-
merman. A gift was presented
to 31rs. Rosenberg by the auxil-
iary.
3Irs. Rosenberg was largely
instrumental in founding the
Ladies Auxiliary in 1913 and
was its president from 1913 to
1933 and from 1937 to 1942,
25 years in all. During all these
years she has paid every sacri-
fice of her money, time and
energy for the good and welfare
of her people and has contribut-
e d generously to every charit-
able organization
and
every
Jewish endeavor
which
was
brought to her attention.

Center Theater to
Present a Comedy

The Ladies' Auxiliary of the
Jewish National Fund will close
its season with a meeting to be
held at the Rose Sittig Cohen
Bldg., Waverly at Lawton, on
Tuesday, June 16.
William Hordes, president of
the Jewish National Fund Coun-
cil of Detroit, will install the
officers elected at the annual
meeting in May. Other features
of the program are a group of
Hebrew songs by Miss Leah
Baschien and accordion selec-
tions by Miss Helen Sloan.
In honor of her daughter's re-
cent marriage, Mrs. Morris Pol-
lock of Virginia Park will be
the hostess of the afternoon and
cordially invites all members and
friends of the auxiliary to a so-
cial hour and refreshments at
12:45. The meeting will be
called to order at 1:30.

Directed by Harry Goldstein
the Center Theater Workshop
will present the three-act com-
edy, "Stage Door" at the Jew-
ish Community Center, Woodward
at Holbrook, Sunday evening,
June 14, at 8:30. The Center
auditorium will be air-conditioned
for the occasion.
A cast of 30, two-thirds of
them girls, will interpret this
Ferber-Kaufman play which \VHS
a smash hit of stage and screen.
The cast includes Dorothy
Wiener, Lorraine Turken, Sylvia
Nussbaum, Ruth Schneider, Mir-
iam Schwartz, Frances Klein,
Lillie Smith, Lillian Solomon,
Ann Chafetz, Gloria Manos, Bar-
bara Drucker, Rose Schoenfeld,
Bernice Sheplow, Martha Silver-
man, Frances Greenfield, Edna
Sott, Mary Tobitk, Eugene Hol-
owchek, Alice Mandell, Myron
Ritter, Sarah Weisman, Mildred
Bronstein, Philip Chafetz, Odell
Warren, Irving Mahler and Wal-
ter Koste.
The Center Theater Work-
shop staff, headed by Harry
Goldstein, includes Reva Reich-
man, assistant director; Herbert
Lipson, technical director; and
Frances Mindel, publicity di-
rector.
Tickets may be obtained at
the Jewish Community Center
at it nominal fee. Soldiers and
sailors in uniform are invited
to attend as guests.
