Seven board members were
picked. They are Sam Freedman,
Jacob Gelbman, Louis Gunsberg,
Julius Herskowitz, Louis Kepes,
Max Reisner and Irwin Sims.
They will serve with the six
hold-overs. The newly elected
officers and directors will be in-
stalled during the Passover week

OBITUARY

BEATRICE M. JACOBS
Beatrice
Madiefsky
Jacobs,
aged 41, passed away March 21,
after a brief illness, at her resi-
dence at 3017 Lawrence Ave.
Surviving are her husband, Dr.
Joseph J. Jacobs ; sons, Ramson
D., Samuel N., and daughter,
Luba Beth ; sister, Mrs. David
Robinson, and brother, Gilbert
Madden.
Mrs. Jacobs was treasurer of
the Home Relief Society and a
member of the Sisterhood of
Temple Beth El, National Coun-
cil of Jewish Women, Jewish
Congress, Hadassah, Woman's
Auxiliary of the Michigan Chir-
opody Society.
Ira Kaufman conductea the
funeral, with services at Temple
Beth El and burial at Clover
Hill Park Cemetery.

PHILOMATHIC DEBATING
CLUB

A variety program was held at
last Sunday's regular meeting.
Norman Milin, Morton Zieve,
Sam Schwartz and George
Rembaum were the participating
speakers. Mr. Rembaum was
elected best speaker of the after-
noon. The critic's report on the
program was presented by Miles
Myerson. A general discussion
on various topics followed.
The Philomathic invites those
who are interested in speech to
attend. Meetings are held every
Sunday at 3 p. m., at Congrega-
tion Shaarey Zedek.
