Heifetz Will Play
Favorite Stradivarius
In Concert March 2

Heifetz owns several violins.
His favorites, however, are his
Guarnerius and his Stradivarius,
both of which accompany him
on all his concert tours.
The Stradivarius, made in the
year 1731, is one of the finest
examples of the master's last
period. This beautiful golden-
brown instrument is particularly
precious to Heifetz since it is
intimately bound up with his
career. When he first came to
New York it was lent to him
by a private family to use as
long as he wanted. Just as soon
as the young man had the
means, he bought the "Strad"
and has had it ever since.
He will play the following pro-
gram:
I.—Sonata No. 8 (Kochel No.
296), Allegro Vivace, Andante
Sostenuto, Ronda (Allegro), by
Mozart.
II.—Scotch Fantasy: Introdu-
zione (Grave)—Andante Canta-
bile, Allegro — Adagio — An-
dante Sostenuto, Finale (Alleg-
•o Guerriero)—Bruch.
