Outstanding examples of the
work of 21 contemporary Jewish
artists will be on exhibition at
the Jewish Community Center,
Woodward at Holbrook, from
March 1 to March 15, to cele-
brate the 21st anniversary of the
Center's Art School, according to
an announcement by Mrs. Walter
Laib, who heads the Center's Art
Appreciation Committee.
"Under the devoted leadership
of Mrs. David B. Werbe, the Cen-
ter Art School has come of age,"
stated Mrs. Samuel R. Glogower,
president of the Center. "Guided
by Mrs. Werbe, the Art School
has fostered the talents of many
Detroit artists who have gained
national, as well as local recog-
nation. Through her efforts, also,
the works of Jewish artists from
all parts of the world have been
exhibited at the Center."
The 21st anniversary exhibit
will open on Sunday evening,
March 1, with a private showing
and reception. Tickets for the
preview may be obtained at the
Center office.
The Jewish Community Center
is a member agency of the De-
troit Community Fund.

NEW YORK (JPS) — Dr.
Hannah J. Appel, vice-president
of the Women's Dental Society
of New York, was awarded one

by Columbia University for

services," at the Alumni Day

Neugarten Sunshine Club
Working with Women's
Division of Allied Cam-
paign

The executive board of the
Neugarten Sunshine Club was
entertained at a luncheon by
Mrs. S. Blacher on Feb. 17.
Plans are under way for the
Allied Jewish Campaign, with
captains and workers pledging
their services.
The next meeting will be held
at the Jewish Center on Monday.
Dessert luncheon will be served
at 1:30 preceding the meeting.
