The membership response was enthusiastic. A Red Cross unit has been organized. At its first meeting, over 100 women were present to offer their services. The unit is open for sewing and knitting every Tuesday, from 9:30 a. in. to 9:30 p. in. and every Wednesday from 9:30 a. m. to 5 p. m. A group of 135 women who indicated that they are interested in some other phase of defense work or public relations are be- ing invited to a meeting by Mrs. Harry Jackson and Mrs. Ben- jamin Jaffee at 615 Boulevard Bldb., on Monday, Feb. 2, at 10:45 a. m. Mrs. Samuel Green- berg, who has been investigating consumers' problems, will give a report. Samuel Jacobs, field representative of OPA consum- er's division for this area, will speak.
