Officers on Monday

CLIFTON AVENUE - CINCINNATI 20, OHIO

The new officers of Home Re-
lief Society will be installed at
a subscription luncheon, to be
held at the Wilshire Hotel, Col-
lingwood and 2nd, on Monday,
Jan. 26, at 12:30 p. m. The lunch-
eon is optional. Members and
friends wishing to attend the in-
stallation ceremonies starting at
2 p. m. are invited. For reserva-
tions call Mrs. Jerome Kanter,
To. 6-0756, or Mrs. Sam Lucas,
To. 8-4039.
Mrs. Charles Cornell will con-
duct the installation ceremonies,
and Mrs. Arthur Gilbert will give
the opening prayer. Mrs. Maxwell
Eimer is the newly elected presi-
dent. Mrs. S. B. Danto announces
that there will be a speaker from
the Red Cross, whose subject will
be "Women's Place in Defense."
Many plans have been formu-
lated by Home Relief for work in
civilian defense. Every Tuesday,
all members wishing to work in
the sewing unit, can come to the
Boulevard Bldg., Woodward and
the Blvd., 9:30 a. m. to 9:30 p. m.
The organization has purchased
$1000 defense bonds and has given
a donation of $50 to the Red
Cross. A day will be set aside for
members who wish to be donor
to the Red Cross blook bank to
go as a group. Members may vol-
unteer at the installation meet-
ing.

At the Temple Israel Sisterhood
meeting on Jan. 12, at the In-
stitute of Arts, Mrs. Samuel B.
Danto; chairman of membership,
and her co-chairmen, Mesdames
Morton Snyder, Albert Oppen-
heim and Harry Weingarden, re-
ported that 100 new members have
joined the Sisterhood, making the
total 450. Membership is open to
non-members of the congregation.
Dues are payable to the financial
secretary, Mrs. Samuel Blucher,
18082 Grecnlawn Ave.
A tea was arranged to close
the meeting by the chairman,
Mrs. Roy Sarason, her co-chair-
man, Mrs. Roy Fisher, and their
committee.
The telephone squad is headed
by Mrs. David Ruby and Mrs.
Charles Bassey.
Any member of the Sisterhood
wishing to be active on any com-
mittee, including defense, hospi-
tality, membership, public rela-
tions, drama or youth activities,
should contact Mrs. Arthur Haas,

No. 369 will hold its monthly
meeting at the Jewish Center,
Woodward at Holbrook, Sunday
Jan. 25, 5 p. m.
During the meeting the Den
Mothers, Den Dads, and the rest
of the leaders of the Pack will
meet separtely to clear pressing
problems.
The Cub Pack Committee is
composed of Murray J. Lipsitt,
chairman, Albert A. Lipsitz, sec-
retary; treasurer, Irwin J. Nes-
tor, and Max Fine.
The Den Mothers of the Pack
are mesdames E. Bushkoff, S.
Morris I. ester, S. Diem. Merton
M. Ertz is Cubmaster of the
Pack. Mr. Arthur Goldberg is
assistant.

Form Pharmacists'
Defense Units

Practically without exception,
every drug store in the Metropoli-
tan Area of Detroit, comprised
of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb
Counties, will be enrolled as an
Emergency Aid Station and In-
formation Center by the Phar-
macists' Committee, Office of Civ-
ilian Defense, Ben Bavly, presi-
dent of the Detroit Retail Drug-

Dance Classes at Center

A new series of eight-week
courses in rhumba, tango, fox
trot and waltz will begin at the
Jewish Community Center on
Monday evening, Feb. 2. Reserva-
tions may still be made for classes
in beginner's or advanced rhumba
as well as for other classes.
Registrations may be made for
Monday or Wednesday evening
classes. Adult couples are invited
to bring their own groups or join
a class now forming.
Miss Mim Carver is the in
structor.

Committee chairmen for the 5th
annual Valentine dance to be
given by Junior Bnai Brith auxil-
iaries have been announced by
Lillian Lash, dance chairman. The
dance will be held at the General
Motors Ballroom on Sunday, Feb.
15, with Lowry Clark's orchestra
providing the music.
Geraldine Hamburg is in charge
of tickets; Selma Epstein, contact,
and Rosanne Wolson, bids.
Other chairmen include Mildred
Greenberg, souvenir book; Doro-
thy Webber, orchestra, and Bea-
trice Waiss, publicity.
Groups comprising the Auxil-
iaries are Pisgah Juniors, De-

Josef Hofmann's Concert
Monday Evening

Josef Hofmann, world famous
pianist, will be presented at Ma-
sonic Auditorium on Monday eve-
ning, Jan. 26.
When the New York World's
Fair "Hall of Music" was dedi-
cated on the opening day, the
choice of soloist was—Josef Hof-
mann.
