DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE and the Legal Chronicle

Mrs. Gitlin Lauds
Ford for Statement

Jewish boys in the classes of the
Ford Trade School, Jewish men
were given employment, jobs were
created for Jewish handicapped
men, and Jewish women were also
employed in various departments.
I have the good fortune of know-
ing Mr. Ford personally and have
always known him to be a genu-
ine, good, kind and sympathetic
humanitarian. II is last week's
statement clarifying "Misconcep-
tion concerning my attitude to-
ward my fellow citizens of Jewish
faith . . . I consider that hate-
mongering prevailed for some
time in this country against Jews,
is of distinct disservice to our
country and to the peace and
welfare of humanity" rings true
Of Mr. Ford, just as true as the
Ford Trade School, the rehabili-
tation Of the handicapped, and his
countless other sevices to man-
kind. Above all he is a great
American.
MRS. CHARLES GITLIN.
