The Jewish War Veterans of
the Department of Michigan and
their Ladies' Auxiliaries have
completed arrangements for the
distribution of tickets, the pub-
lishing of the program, and the
arrangements for the large ball-
room of the Masonic Temple which
will accommodate 6,000 people
for the annual patriotic military
hall to he held Feb. 14. This
function will be open to the gen-
eral public, and the men on leave
in the armed forces in uniform
will be admitted free with their

The purpose of the annual mili-
tary ball is two-fold: As a major
social goodwill event; as major
fund raising program of the vet-
erans. The funds raised from
the ball will be used to augment
those derived from annual dues.
The following are the purposes

fare Campaign, Community Fund,
American Red Cross, United Serv-

fense enlistments, U.S. armed
forces enlistments, Home-Guard
enlistments and Selective Service

essentials needed for "all-out"
war preparation, "Big Brother"
activity for morale uplifting
amongst soldiers and selectees,
home social activity for men on
leave.
The veterans help maintain ac-
curate records of the Jews in
service, aid needy veterans and
their dependents, help promote
general goodwill, sponsor open
forums and social activities.
Dave Diamond's Orchestra will
furnish the music. Several Mich-
igan Veterans' drill teams will
perform, and current top-notch
entertainers will give of their
services.
Post 135 will hold annual in-
stallation on Jan. 25 at the Vet-
erans Building.
