weeks from spinal meningitis.

In the first 11 months of 1941,
Mr. Rosenwald said, the NRS ex-
tended financial assistance to
13,500 individual refugees, ac-
complished 6,100 employment
placements, made an additional
1,586 placements of physicians,
musicians, rabbis and other pro-
fessionals, resettled 3,075 refu-
gees away from New York, ex-
tended 1,740 small loans to refu-
gees so they might establish
themselves in business, profes-
sions or secure training, and pro-
vided 92,391 migration services
for refugees and Americans act-
ing in their behlf.
"In 1942 NRS has a first re-
sponsibility, which it is already
discharging, of keeping Jewish
communities immediately inform-
ed of official war-time alien en-
emy measures affecting the status
of refugees," Mr. Rosenwald
said. "It has a second important
obligation of continuing to repre-
sent the communities in Wash-
ington b e f ore governmental
agencies."

man of this affair, urges prospec-
