Her bert Mallinson Proclaiming a "new era of ex- panded activities of Zionist Youth groups" in this country, a conference held on Sept. 28, with the participation of repre- sentatives of 50,000 young Zion- ists, announced that the spring of 1942 had been set as the time for the convening of the First Congress of American Zionist Youth. At the same sessions, called by the National Council of Zion- ist Youth Organizations, the members of the executive com- mittees of all Zionist Youth groups in this country expressed its solidarity with the Jewish community in Palestine at this time of war crisis, and an nounced that it "stands prepared to mobilize not only its moral support, but its material and physical support as well." In another resolution, the full support of the cooperating groups was pledged to the Pal- estine Pioneer Units, the Plugot Hechalutz, now training groups of young Jews in this country, to be at the call for the Jewish Agency for activity related to defense work and post war re- construction in Palestine, as needed. Special notice was taken of the vital role at this time of the Jewish National Fund "as the agency which buys land as the inalienable property of the whole Jewish people."
