GENEVA. (JPS) — The toll
taken by Hitlerism in the former
Czech Republic, including both
Bohemia and Moravia, is sharp-
ly evident from statistics issued
by Nazi newspapers of the Jew-
ish population at present and in
pre-Nazi days.
There are now 100,000 Jews in
the whole territory of former
Czechoslovakia and 25,000 Jews
in Prague, according to the
Czesko Slovo and the Prager Tag,
German-controlled papers. Before
Hitler undertook to "protect"
Czechia, the country had about
225,000 Jews, and Prague alone
had a population of 80,000 Jews
at one time.
