Observance of Education Month

The speaker for the closing
event of the Education Month
observance of the United Ilebrew
Schools will be Dr. A. M. Hersh-
man, rabbi of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
One of the main features of
this event is a chorus of . 125
boys and girls who will sing Pal-
estinian and Chanukah songs.
Cantor Jacob IL Sonenklar is di-
rector of this chorus. Ile is as-
sisted by Miss Leah Baschin,
Abraham Schachter and Mrs.
Ilse Roberg. This education event
program will take place on Sun-
day afternoon, Dec. 14, at 3
o'clock, in the Philadelphia-
Byron Auditorium, which is be-
ing decorated for this occasion.
This program marks the clos-
ing of an active education period

which began with the month ,.f
Tishri, and was replete with ac-
tivities in which hundreds of pa:-
ents have been contacted through
home visitors, while thousands
have been reached through the
radio, through the special issue of
The Detroit Jewish Chronicle,
dedicated to the Education Month
and through addresses delivered
in synagogues and at various
gatherings. The chairman of the

While officially the Education
Month activities are at an end,
it is the intention of the general
publicity committee for the
schools, headed by Rabbi Morris
