For years, the golden tones of Peerce have been heard on the nation's radios and concert stages and occasionally in non- New-York opera appearances. The question as to why he never reached the Met was al- ways explained by the physi- cal appearance of Peerce, who is somewhat short and has what are erroneously referred to as "Semitic features."
