DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE and the Legal Chronicle

OBITUARY

FREDERICK JAGEL

tette, this group will appear at
Masonic Auditorium on Monday
evening, Nov. 17. Each a star
in his own right, it is small won-
der that their Vancouver, B. C.,
audience was completely delighted
by the foursome when they made
their initial appearance as a
quartette there on Oct. 10. The
quartette's members, Josephine
Antoine, Karwin Branzell, Fred-
erick Jagel, and John Brownlee,
make an ensemble that will be
difficult to equal. Their excellent
musicianship, their natural ex-
pressiveness, and their personal
charm give them power to make
great music live for their audi-
ences.
Frederick Jagel, tenor who sang
in opera throughout Europe before
joining the Metrolopitan, has just
returned from successes in Rio,
where he participated in his fourth
season of opera in South America,
to join the San Francisco opera
group for the winter season on
the West Coast.
