Temple Israel Opens Its Friday Night Services
Nov. 7; Rabbi Fram to Preach

Temple Israel, the new Reform
Temple of Detroit, announces that
it will open its Friday night serv-
ices in the Maccabees Auditorium,
Woodward and Putnam, Friday
night, Nov. 7, at 8:30,
Rabbi Leon Fram has chosen
as the topic of his opening ser-
mon "Religion in the World Cri-
sis".
The service will be followed by
a social hour sponsored by Tem-
ple Israel's Sisterhood.
The social hour will be fol-
lowed by a youth symposium, con-
ducted under the auspices of the
Young People's Society of Tem-
ple Israel.
The musical service will be
rendered by Cantor Robert S.
Tulman accompanied oh the organ
by Karl Haas.
The congregation will join in
the singing of Sabbath hymns and
responses.
The Sabbath morning services
of Temple Israel are held every
Saturday morning in the audi-
torium of the Hampton Public
School, 18460 Warrington Drive,
which also houses the sessions of
Temple Israel Religious School
on Saturday and Sunday morn-
ings.
Annual Meeting Sunday
On Sunday night, Nov. 2, the
congregation will hold its first
annual meeting in the main au-
ditorium at the Detroit Institute
of Arts at 8 o'clock. There will
be an election of permanent of-
ficers and the board of trustees.

Morris Garvett, the chairman of
the temporary executive commit-
tee, will deliver a report on the
beginning and the growth of the
congregation.
Cantor Robert S. Tulman will,
for the evening, return to his
career as an operatic tenor and
will sing arias from his large
repertoire of opera in many lan-
guages—French, Italian, Czech,
German and Russian.
