Be sure to cast your ballot!
It is the duty of all citizens to vote.
Being the second day of Succoth, Orthodox voters
will be unable to vote during the day. But they will
have ample time to cast their ballots after evening services.
Therefore, they must make it a point to go to the
polls and cast their ballots in the evening, before 8
'o'clock, when the booths close.
Be sure to vote on Tuesday!

Registration In the
Hebrew Schools

This is the registration period
in all the branches of the United
Hebrew Schools, and is known as
Bein Hazmanim.
All offices of the United He-
brew Schools are open now for
registration. Parents are urged
to co-operate with the schools and
register their children immediate-
ly in order to give the manage-
ment an opportunity to organize
the classes without delay.
The schools are located as fol-
lows: 1245 W. Philadelphia, 9000
Tuxedo (at Holmur), 13226 Law-
ton (at Tyler), 15705 Parkside
(at Midland), 17750 Brush St.,
Central High School, Brady Pub-
lic School, Winterhalter Public
School, and Bagley Public School.
For additional information, call
Townsend 8-0063.
The Gemara class which was
opened two weeks ago is in charge
of Rabbi Leizer Levin, the Talmud
instructor of the United Hebrew
Schools. This is the third Ge-
mara class of the United Hebrew
Schools. There is one in the Phil-
adelphia-Byron School and in the
David W. Simons Branch, and
now in the Rose Sittig Cohen
Branch.
The new branch in the Seven
Mile Road district was opened
Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the Bag-

that neighborhood are asked to
register their children on week-
days, Mondays through Thurs-

helped to arouse our people from

Particularly, we approve of
what the moving picture indus-
try has done in this direction.
We are proud that there are
Jews in responsible positions in
this industry, and that they had
the vision and courage to use
their great vehicle for a service
to America for which isolationists
are now attacking them. It is
a great patriotic service which
the industry is rendering when
it portrays Nazism in all its
true colors, not deviating an
iota from the truth, rather un-
derstating than overstating the
horrors of hat unmitigated bes-
tiality. If this is propaganda, so
was "'Uncle Tom's Cabin"! Naz-
ism is as indecent and spiritually
as corrupt an institution as slave-
ry. All who expose it are doing
the work of religion, of civili-
zation, of America.

Education Month
Addresses in the
Local Synagogues

Education Month launched under
the chairmanship of awrence W.
Crohn is in full progess.
The first step in this project
was to arrange for speakers to
talk on the subject of education
in general and on the work of the
United Hebrew Schools in par-
ticular, in the various synagogues.
This is carried on by a commit-
tee headed by Rabbi M. J. Wohl-
gelernter and Solomon Kasdan.
Addresses on education were de-
livered by rabbis and lay leaders.
Joseph Haggai addressed the Da-
vid W. Simons and the Rose Sittig
Cohen congregations on Rosh Ha-
shonah. Solomon Kasdan addressed
the David W. Simons congregation,
and Bernard Isaacs spoke in the
Rose Sittig Cohen Synagogue.
Meyer Mathis addressed Littman's
Minyon, and Irving Schlussel
spoke in the congregation of the
Philadelphia-Byron School.
The next step in the Education
Month is to contact organizations.
