liberal congregation, will hold its worship of God.
The Women's Division of the

Dr. Clarissa Fineman will re-
view the book "The Jew Faces
a New World" by Robert Gordis.
The book was chosen because of
its timely appeal. Surveying the
past and present status of the
major Jewish communities, the
author considers the problem of
the survival of the Jewish peo-

events of recent years. "The Jew
Faces a New World" both pre-
sents a program and issues a
challenge to American Jewry.
The review will be followed by

Classes in the Crosman School
have been opened recently and
many children have registered.
The classes are conducted daily
after the school hours.
Classes for beginners are open
also in the other three Folk
Schools-1912 Taylor, 12244
Dexter and at the Thirkell
School, 14th and Delaware.
Jewish parents of the respec-
tive neighborhoods, who are in-
terested in giving their children
a progressive education, are re-
minded of the opportunity and
are invited to register youngsters
as early as possible.
The advanced classes of the
Jewish Folk Schools are being
taught Hebrew and Yiddish, Jew-
ish history, Bible in the original,
singing, Jewish traditions, and
are brought nearer to heroic ef-
forts towards the rebuilding of
Palestine.
On Oct. 3 a symposium was
held at the school at 1912 Tay-
lor, on the topic "Jewish Edu-
cation".
The annual drive for funds
conducted by the schools has
been started on Sept. 19 in con-
nection with the reception given
