Magen David New Identifying Symbol for German Jews GENEVA (JPS) — The Jews of Germany, who until now have been spared the yellow armbands and other peculiarly German iden- tifying marks devised for con- suered territories, are now forced to wear the Magen David sewed firmly on the left breast. Effect- ive Sept. 15, all Jews in Ger- many and Bohemia-Moravia who are more than six years old will be required to wear the insignia prominently displayed or be sub- ject to the fine of $60 or six weeks' imprisonment. With the thoroughness which still evokes the admiration of my- opic isolationists, the Germans have taken pains to specify the type and details of the star. It must be a six-pointed one, out- lined in black on yellow cloth the size of the palm of one's hand, with the word "Jude" as a black superins•ription. In addition, Jews are now forbidden the wearing of orders or decorations, including those won in the service of the grateful Reich.
