The American people has pledged itself to unprecedented action to

banish the concentration camp and brutal oppression from this earth.

The American Jews can do no less in dealing with the ravages of war

and the humiliation of the yellow badge which seeks to reduce the

Jewish people to the status of beggars and derelicts.

The Jewish people cannot survive half slave and half free men. If the

bonds of enslavement are to be broken, only we in the United States

can and must break them.

We must consider the 1941 United Jewish Appeal which embraces the

Joint Distribution Committee, the United Palestine Appeal and the

National Refugee Service, a program for the liberation of the Jewish

people through constructive action.

We must sustain life, revive hope and restore the dignity and honor of

our people.

A united community must respond to a united campaign with a united

will to preserve the Jewish people, here and abroad.
