Addresses Large Audi-
ence on Visit in
Detroit

Dr. Isaac Halevy Herzog, Chief
Rabbi of Palestine, received a
royal welcome on his Detroit
visit last Sunday and thrilled an
overflow audience at the Bnai
Moshe with an inspiring mes-
sage.
Coming here in behalf of the
Allied Jewish Campaign, under
the auspices of the United Jew-
ish Appeal for Refugees and
Palestine which is included in
the drive, Rabbi Herzog spoke
in the evening to an audience
that filled to overflowing the
main synagogue of Congregation
Bnai Moshe, as well as to an
additional 400 people who heard
the address broadcast by spe-
cially installed loud speakers in
the banquet hall of the syna-

Expressing
Palestine will survive the pres-
ent crisis and that the Jewish
National Home will conic through
safely with God's help, Rabbi
Herzog pleaded for the reten-
tion of faith, for a strengthen-
ing of the Jewish spiritual values,
for refusal to yield to despair
in the present crisis. He urged
unstinted support of the funds
which continue to build Pales-
tine and to aid unfortunates
throughout the world.
Dr. Herzog opened his address
in Hebrew, continued in English
