In precenting the work of Ira Moskowitz, the National Federa- tion continues its long tradition of bringing examples of the work of prominent Jewish artists, in- cluding Hermann Struck, Max Pollak, Moritz Oppenheimer and Louis Kabrin into Jewish homes. Affording space for dates and notes, the green covered calen- dar with the NFTS insignia in magneta includes a record of both Jewish and secular holiday dates throughout the year. Palestinian, Mexican and Am- erican scenes which illustrate the calendar represent a kaleidosco- pic view of the work of the tal- ented young artist. For, Mr. Moskowitz has lived, studied and worked in America since 1927. From 1935-37, he traveled and made pictures in Palestine and in 1939, he recorded the life of Mexico. Only 28 years old, Mr. Mos- kowitz has already received wide recognition. The Metropolitan Museum of New York has ex- amples of his work and he has exhibited at the Weyhe, 8th Street and other New York gal- leries. Born in 1913 in Turka in the Carpathian Mountains of Aus- trian Poland, Mr. Moskowitz is the scion of a family of rabbis and scholars. At the outbreak of World War I, the family moved to Prague and in 1920 to Stryj where Ira Moskowitz' grandfath- er was chief rabbi. Upon coming to America, the artist studied at the Art Stu- dnts' League in New York and with Harry Wickey, graphic art- ist, painter and sculptor of Corn- wall Landing, New York. BELGRADE (WNS)—Angered by predictions made by pro-Brit- ish statemen that the Nazi Gov- ish statesmen that the Nazi Gov- and that exiled German Jews will be welcomed back to Germany, the Nazi radio warned world Jew- ry that anti-Semitism has become so entrenched in Germany as to preclude the possibility of Jews returning to the Reich for "at least 1,000 years." The Nazi spokesman stressed that Jewish life in German y would be stamped out of exist- ence.
