"Never Tried, But Always
Found Guilty"

Editor: Detroit Jewish Chronicle:
We are a people endowed with
a persecution complex, where-
with of necessity we have more
tolerance for the non-believer,
than they with us. We are not
unlike guests of a very fickle
host. Our weaknesses irritate,
and our power is feared—both of
which serve as reason for a cen-
tennial uprooting. Then to the
winds we scatter, left with our
own devices for surviving. But
we do not diminish—instead we
grow—like a large sturdy tree—
ever bearing fruit!
Human like we would perhaps
like to drop an apple on the
snoring, lazy hunter, instead we
drop it alongside, so upon awak-
ening he might pare it with his
bayonet and feast.
For all this we are never tired,
but always proven guilty.
We are the choosen people!
SYLVIA LIPSKY,
