evening, March 16, at the Jewish
Community Center, and will be
sponsored jointly by the Senior
Council and House League.
Starting at 7 p. in., two fea-
ture basketball games will be
(.."ayed in the gymnasium. One
of them will decide the winner
of the senior basketball crown
for this season, and the other will
be an all-star game. After the
games, (lancing will be enjoyed
in the auditorium, to the music
of Bernie Roberts and his So-
phisticated Swing, starting at

Former Chief Secretaries Are
Knighted

Two former Chief Secretaries
of the Palestine Government
have received knighthoods through
the conferment on the of the
K.C.M.G. (Knight Commander of
St. Mic hael and St. George) by
King George VI in the New
Year's Honor List. The two men,
who were thus awarded the same
decoration received this year by
Palestine's High Commissioner
Sir Harold Alfred MacMichael,
are John Hathorn Hall, present
Governor If Aden who served in
Palestine in 1933-37, and William
Dennis Battershill, Governor of
Cyprus who was Chief Secretary
here from 1 937 to 1939.

Opening of Adult Classes Is
Delayed One Week

For reasons of an administra-
tive nature, a number of the
classes in the adult education
department of the Jewish Com-
munity Center will open one
week later than the dates orig-
inally announced. The new open-
ing dates will be as follows:
Mondays: "Public Speaking,"
beginning March 24; "How to
Think Straight," beginning on
March 24; "The American Way,"
beginning March 24.
Tuesdays: "The Current Thea-
ter," beginning April 1; "Inter-
ior Decorating," beginning April
29.
Wednesdays: "Psychology for
Everyman," beginning March 26;
"Contemporary Social Problems,"
beginning March 26.
All remaining classes will meet
at the time originally announced.

The bride was lovely in a white
net gown and fingertip veil, and
carried a bouquet of white roses.
Her attendants were her sister,
Miss Janet Zieve as maid of
honor and Mrs. Benjamin Zogut
as matron of honor.
Mrs. Zieve wore a rose chiffon
gown, and Mrs. Chait was gowned
in black.
Edward Chait of Omaha acted
as best man.
Dinner was served to 175 guests.
Mr. Chait is a graduate of the
University of Nebraska.
