Rumania's Enemy Status Makes
Jewish Emigration Difficult,
Says Hall

LONDON.—(Palcor Agency)—
Rumania's present status an an
enemy territory makes extremely
difficult the position of the Pales-
tine Government in the matter
of granting permission for any
Jews to emigrate from that Bal-
kan country to Palestine, Parlia-
mentary Undersecretary for the
Colonies George Henry Hall told
the House of Commons.
Colonel Josiah C. Wedgwood,
Laborite, had sought information
concerning the request made by
the Jewish Agency directly after
the January Iron-Guard pogroms
that it be immediately granted
additional emergency immigration
certificates to admit into Pales-
tine as large a number as pos-
sible of the Jews who still re-
mained in Rumania at the mercy
of the barbarous extremists.
