Dr. Goldstein Spurs the Detroit
Zionist Membership Campaign

Delivers Stirring Address at Dinner; Calls Upon
All Jews to Become Affiliated with Move-
ment for National Redemption

The membership drive of the Zionist Organization of
Detroit received great impetus at the dinner on Thursday
evening, at the Shaarey Zedek, at which Dr. Israel Goldstein,
president of the Jewish National Fund of America and vice-
president of the Zionist Organization of America, was the
guest speaker.
Dr. Goldstein called upon all Jews to align themselves
with the movement for national redemption. "At a time
when millions of Jews are driven and helpless, membership
in the Zionist movement offers American Jews the privilege
to exercise their will and initiative in behalf of the most
creatve effort in which the Jewish people is engaged," Dr.
Goldseiff declared.
James I. Ellmann, chairman of the Detroit membership
drive, called upon the members of the local organization to
set aside a certain portion of time towards an effort to
strengthen the movement and to bring in at least a minyan-
10 Jews—each in the work for Palestine's redemption.
Workers will comb the city this week in the drive to
enroll another 2,250 members in the Zionist Organization
of Detroit.
