Rabbi Nathan to Begin a





The Jewish National Workers'
Alliance is bringing Maxa Nor-
dau, brilliant daughter of the
late great Zionist leader, Max
Nordau, to Detroit, for a lecture
at the Masonic Temple on Sun-
day evening, Feb. 23. She will
speak on the topic "What Max
Nordau Would Say Today."
Miss Nordau has just arrived
in this country from England.
Her last visit in Detroit was about
13 years ago.
At this gathering, a musical
program will be presented by
Marguerite Kozenn, well known
soprano, and Julius Chajes, able
pianist, director of the music de-
partment at the Jewish Commu-
nity Center.
In addition to being an able
speaker, Miss Nordau is one of Eu-
rope's leading portrait and land-
scape painters. She is also an au-
thor and publicist. She has been
making her home in Palestine
during the last 12 years.

Rabbi Jacob J. Nathan will
commence a series of lectures on
the prophets, at late Friday eve-
ning services, at Congregation
Bnai Moshe. The first lecture of
the series will be given on Feb.
7 on the topic "Messengers of
God," in which Rabbi Nathan will
deal with the basic characteris-
tics of the prophets. Services be-
gin at 8:20 and are conducted
by Cantor David Katzman. A so-
cial hour follows.

and the United States. A report
will be heard on the success of
the chicken dinner and bingo
party. Final nomination of officers
will take place.
