ments by Jews in Palestine, will be included in
next week's issue of The Detroit Jewish Chronicle.

the occasion of the current national drive for
150,000 new members in the Zionist Organization
of America. The Detroit quota in the drive is 2,250.

The Little Theater Guild will

Sisterhood of the Congregation
will sponsor a birthday party, in
the form of a luncheon compli-
mentary to members.
Mrs. S. S. Wittenberg, chairman
of the music committee, and her
co-workers, Mesdames A. Purdy,

has been able to carry on a
constructive program through its
Sylvia Simons Scholarship Fund.
In recent years it has assisted
six students with unusual mu-
sical talent to continue their
studies, some to obtain teacher's
certificates and all to become
self-supporting.
Some of the proceeds are used
to present a series of programs
to the hospitals, sanatoriums,
children's and old folks' homes,
bringing a large measure of cheer
and joy to these shut-ins.
The Jewish Center Music
School has always merited the
interest and financial support of
the Music Study Club. In addi-
tion to a contribution to the
school, a Steinway concert piano
has just been presented to tit ,•
Jewish Community Center for
concert purposes.
Every communal effort, such
as the Community Fund, the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign, Detroit
Symphony Orchestra and the
Metropolitan Opera Guild, has
been supported by the Music
Study Guild, financially and with
active, interested workers.
As a member of the Michigan
Federation of Music Clubs and
the National Federation of Mu-
sic Clubs, it cooperates with
these organizations in their state
and national programs.
The concert committee, cap-
tains and workers are urged to
attend a dessert luncheon meet-
ing on Friday, Jan. 17, at 1 p. m.,
at the home of Mrs. Arthur S.
Purdy, 631 Chicago Blvd., to re-
port on the sale of tickets.
