The institution deserves the sobriquet of "League of Nations" since the roster of more than 80 boys includes students representing 17 states in the Union and four provinces in Canada as well as Palestine, Poland, Austria, Czechoslovakia and Germany. Ner Israel was founded seven years ago by Rabbi Jacob I Ruderman, who has been serving as dean since inception. The new building will have accommodations for 150 students.
