Two Parties
Junion Hadassah is drawing
its membership campaign to a
close. The members will gather
on Wednesday, Nov. 27, to start
festivities with an "Old-Time
Party." No costumes are neces-
sary. The girls will gather at the
synagogue on Pingree and Wood-
rom Wilson and present their
membership cards, or dues at $2,
to secure membership cards.
On Sunday, Dec. 1, the climax
of the membership campaign
will express itself in a "Pa-
triotic Party,"—a dance to be
held at the Jewish Center. Vir-

Simon Myers, Former U. S.
Civil Service Examiner,
Is Dead at 81
Simon Myers, a native born
Detroiter, passed away suddenly
Saturday afternoon at his home,
49 Highland Ave. He was 81
years old.
Mr. Myers was known to thou-

Civil Service examiner in this
district for 38 years. His many
acts of kindness and unostenta-
tious manner had endeared him
to all with whom he came in con-
tact. A great lover of music, Mr.
Myers was a charter member and
active supporter of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra Society. He
was also a life member of Zion
Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M. Other
organizations to which he be-
longed were the Maccabees and
Temple Beth El.
Funeral services were held on
