Considered by professional ma- gicians as the outstanding per- former of today, Tarbell has stu- died the magic of all races and added to his own repertory the outstanding feats of foreign coun- tries. Hence he brings to Detroit next Sunday not only his own amazing feat; but also the mir- acles of jungle witch doctors, the medicine men and Shamens of the Indians, the Guli Guli Wonder Workers of Egypt and the mystics of the Orient. Strangely enough, one of the most famous Hindu rope tricks that has baffled tourists in India in recent years was taught to the Hindus by Tarbell, himself, when he was studying magic in India. However, his own exclusive creation, "Eyeless Vision," in which he reads, drives a car and performs other feats with his eyes sealed shut with adhesive tape, is still considered his most baffling performance. This is one of the feats he will show at the Detroit Institute of Arts next Sunday. Mikveh Israel, Philadel- phia, Observes Its Bicentennial TEL AVIV. (Palcor Agency) Mapay, Palestine Jewry's Labor Party, inaugurated its new Ar- losoroff Building, dedicated to the memory of Dr. Chaim Arlos- oroff, labor leader, and Jewish Agency Executive member, who was murdered while walking on the sands of this city's seashore in June, 1933. 3 Mischa Elman, the eminent violinist, will be heard in De- troit at the Masonic Auditorium on Monday evening, Dec. 2. Elman's artistry, which has continued unflaggingly for a gen- eration, was first heard in this Congregation Mikveh Israel, Philadelphia, is 200 years old.
