The principal speaker at the banquet was Rabbi Louis L. Mann of Chicago who declared that if there is hope for the world in the present crisis it will come in religion. Barry C. Grossman, who was re-elected president of the Tem- ple at the meeting which pre- ceded the evening affair, pre- sided at the banquet. Among the many leaders of the congregation who were hon- ored at the banquet were: Rab- bi Leo M. Franklin, spiritual di- rector since 1899; Rabbi Leo Fram, who is celebrating his 15th anniversary with the temple; State Supreme Court Justice Henry M. Butzel, Melville S. Welt, Israel Himelhoch and Morris Garvett, former presi- dents of the congregation; the Misses Hattie and Florence Sil- berman, descendants of the first president; and more than a score of members who boast 40 years or more of membership.
