Emma L. Schaver
Prepares Concert
Program for Nov. 14

Emma Lazaroff Schaver, popu-
lar Detroit soprano who has won
acclaim in many cities in this
country, in Canada, Poland and
Palestine, is preparing a program
of classical music for the concert

in which she will be featured on
Thursday evening, Nov. 14, at
the Scottish Rite CathAral of
the Masonic Temple. A prominent
New York pianist will accompany
her.
Mrs. Schaver 1111$ had a color-
ful career. In addition to appear-
ing in Palestinian colonies and
in Tel Aviv and Warsaw, she has
been honored at recitals in New
York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Pitts-
burgh, Toronto and many other
cities.
On Jan. 20 of this year, Mrs.
Schaver appeared in concert at
Carnegie Hall in New York at
the Music Festival, and was pre-
sented in a duet with Jan Peerce.
On March 23. also at Carnegie
Hall, she appeared with the Or-
chestra of Friends of Music. On
April 14 she was presented in
. 1 '.! concert with the Workmen's Cit . -
de Chorus in Town Hall, New
York, and sang three cantatas.
Morris Schaver, who is arrang-
ing details for his wife's concert,
was heartily thanked this week
by the Detroit League of the Na-
tional Home for Jewish Children
at Denver for postponing the
concert from the original date on
which the League is sponsoring
an affair to the Nov. 14 date
and for cooperating, with an im-
portant community organization.
