FRANK 8( SEDER
Jewish war refugees from Poland who found a haven in
Lithuania, Rumania
and Hungary have received food, medical care and other emergency relief
from committees subventioned by American Jewry through
the United
Jewish Appeal for Refugees and Overseas Needs which provides the re•
sources for the war relief, rehabilitation and retraining program of the Joint
Distribution Committee in Poland, Germany and other parts of Central and
Eastern Europe. In addition, the J.D.C., which is represented together with the
United Palestine Appeal and the National Refugee Service in the United
Jewish Appeal, also provides for emigration of Jewish refugees to overseas
lands and assistance to those who have found homes in Latin
American
countries, Shanghai' and the Philippines.
