Classes for the correction of
stammering, stuttering and sim-
ilar speech and voice impedi-
ments will be offered again this
fall at Northern Night School,
IVoodward at Clairmount. Classes
will meet Tuesday and Thursday
evenings, 7 to 9 o'clock.
This work is part of the regu-
lar Detroit Evening School p•o-
gram and is available to all adults
interested in the improvement
of their speech. Registration may

At its national convention in
Grand Rapids, Delta Omega Iota,
off-campus Jewish sorority, voted
to offer a scholarship for the
coming year to a student of the
Hebrew Union College of Cincin-
nati. In announcing the resolu-
tion, Miss Helen Roden, of Grand
Rapids stated:
"This scholarship is an expres-
sion of our gratitude for the
splendid leadership the rabbinate
has given American Israel. Now
it becomes a more urgent neces-
sity than ever before. Delta
Omega Iota rejoices to be able
to make some modest contribu-
tion to its continuation." Miss

torian; Helen Roden, Grand Rap-
ids, counselor.
Miss Evelyne Schwartz is pres-
ident of the Detroit chapter.

Bnai Brith Hillel Founda-
tions Open 12 New Units

WASHINGTON (WNS) — A
major expansion in the scope of
the Bnai Brith Hillel Foundation
movement providing for the open-
ing of a new Foundation of
Brooklyn College and 11 other
units at as many colleges and
universities at the beginning of
the 1940-41 college year will ex-
tend Hines program to 10,000
additional Jewish students, it was
announced at Bnai Brith head-
quarters by Henry Monsky, presi-
dent of Bnai Brith and chairman
of its National Hillel Commis-
sion.
Opening of the 12 new units,
Mr. Monsky said, will bring to

the number of Hillel Founda-
tions and Hillel Counselorships
maintained by Bnai Brith on as
many campuses as cultural, re-
ligious and social welfare cen-
ters for Jewish college men and
women. With 11 others scheduled
to be established by the time
the school year is under way,
there will be 54 Hillel units serv-
ing 30,000 Jewish students, Mr.

Rabbi Nathan is a graduate
of the Hebrew Theological Col-
lege of Chicago, where he studied
for 12 years. At the same time
he also studied law and the so-
cial sciences at the University
of Chicago, receiving his degree
in 1935. He has also done ad-
vance research work in sociology
at the same university.

the kibbutz settlement establish-
ed on P. I. C. A. land for the
late Dr. Moshe Glickson, editor
of Haaretz for many years. Dr.
Glickson was killed in an auto-
mobile accident near Hedera in
May, 1939. The final name will
be given by the Names Commit-
tee of which Menahem M. Ussi-
shkin is chairman.
