The advent of a new leader in
Zionism who was previously quite
unknown to the rank and file of
the movement, naturally arouses
a great deal of speculation, and
one of the various questions that
is being asked about Edmund I.
Kaufmann, the new president of
the Zionist Organization of
America, relates to the original
sponsorship of the new candidate
for the office, who, it is recalled,
a few years ago aspired to the

Brith. which position was then
easily won by Henry Monsky of
Omaha, Neb.
As there is bound to be some
wrong guessing with regard to
the original proposals of Mr.
Kaufmann for president of the
Z. 0. A., a successful election

well settle the question at once
and give credit where credit is
due. The first sponsor and strong-
