BAY CITY NOTES
In the gardens adjoining the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Sharff, in Canton, 0., their daugh-
ter, Charlotte Anne, became the
bride of Marvin Sydney Harri-
son, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
B. Harrison, of Sixth St., Bay
City, on June 30. Rabbi I. J.
Fine officiated in the service be-
fore about 115 guests, with the
bridal party standing beneath a
rose arbor banked with palms
and vase bouquets of tall gladio-
lus She approached the arbor
with her father on a garden walk
lined with white blossoms. At-
tending the bride as her maid-of-
honor, was her twin sister, Miss
Julia Sharff. George Nadler of
Detroit and Cleveland, was best
man for Mr. Harrison. A string
quartet of musicians from the
Cleveland Institute of Music, pro-
vided a soft instrumental back-
ground for the service. Mr. and
Mrs. Harrison left later for a
wedding trip, after which they
will come to Bay City to make
their home. For travel, the bride
wore a gown of alligator green
silk with a small white print fig-
ure, matching purse, a natural
straw halo hat, and shoes of
white and japonica. Among guests
at the rites were residents of
Cleveland, Detroit, and Mansfield,
and including college friends of
the couple, both of whom were
graduated from the University
of Michigan, Mr. Harrison in
1939, and Mrs. Harrison earlier
this month.

Mrs. A. II. Jacoby was elected
president of the Senior Hadassah
in the final meeting of the year
held at the home of Airs. Morris
W. Goldberg. Other officers who
will assist her are Mrs. Reuben
Adelman, first vice - president;
Mrs. Benjamin Last, second vice-
president; Mrs. Max Michelson,
recording secretary; Mrs. Julius
Sherman, treasurer; and Mrs.
Barney Brenner, financial secre-
tary. The slate was unanimously
elected following the report read
by Mrs. Philip Zachar, nomina-
tions chairman.

Bea Cutler, the Aryan who
was the Voice of God in Max
Reinhardt's "Eternal Road", is
now a successful jazz band lead-
er packing 'em in at the Rain-
bow Room in Rockefeller Center.

Breakfast Club • where all boys
of Bar Mitzvah age or over, and
their fathers, gather at 9 o'clock
Sunday morning to "daven" with
"tefilin," and later enjoy a de-
lightful breakfast as the guests
of the eynagogue.
During the course of the
breakfast, interesting and lively
discussions are carried on about
some phase of Judaism or cur-
rent Jewish topic.
Those interested, join in var-
ious athletic activities after the
breakfast in nearby Central
Field.
Congregation Bnai David, Elm-
hurst and 14th, invites all Bar
Mitzvah boys, their fathers and
young men to be guests at these
Sunday morning minyons and
breakfasts. It offers an oppor-
tunity to keep in touch with pray-
er and general Jewish activities. g
The Men's Club is host at these
breakfasts for which there is no
charge.

The bride was lovely in an old-
fashioned velvaray gown with
leg-o-mutton sleeves, a four yard
train and bonnet type finger-tip
veil. She carried an old-fashioned
colonial bouquet. The bridesmaids
were: Miss Henrietta Maxman,
Dorothy Fleisher and Ruth Fried-
man. They were all dressed in
old-fashioned organdy and ging-
ham gowns and polk bonnets and
carried colonial bouquets. Miss
Edythe Lillion Serota was maid
of honor and Albert Kahl was
best man. The ushers were Saul
Moskowitz, Cecil Aaron and
Lewis Aaron. Nancy Ann Serota
was flower girl. Cut-of-town
guests included: Mr. and Mrs.
Sam Sirota; Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
Rabinowitz; Ruth, Jerry and
Ralph Sirota; Shirley and Wil-
liam Rabinowitz, all Of Wilkes-
Barre, Pa., and Mrs. S. Kretch-
man of Philadelphia. The couple
left on a two weeks' motor trip
to White Sulphur Springs, Wash-
ington and New York.
