Nationally prominent leaders
will address sessions of the con-

to be taken affecting the standing
of the movement on American
Jewish problems, as well as those
involving world Jewry and the
upbuilding of Palestine.
On the occasion of the 30th
annual convention, H. Yellis, na-
tional organizer, is in Detroit to
assist the local groups in enlist-
ing 500 new members in the
Farband. At the rally held Mon-
day evening at Lachar's, at
which David Pinski, national
president, world famous play-
wright, was the guest speaker,
progress was reported in this
drive and members expressed con-
fidence that the goal of 500 will
be reached.

chairman of the convention corn- aspirations of the Farband and
its achievements during the past

Jewish girls on the streets of
Warsaw by uniformed Nazis who
carry them off to brothels estab-

from Nazi-occupied Poland.
Proof that the seizure of Jew-
ish women is done with official
Nazi sanction was seen in the
fact that the girls are crowded
into military trucks on the pre-
text of performing "special nec-
essary work". The girls are never

The refugees reported also that
bread rations for Jews in War-
saw has been set at a half a

pound per person each week.
Jewish ration cards are of a dif-
ferent color than those issued to
Poles and may be used only in
Jewish bakeries, of which there
are only a few in the entire city.
Since the Jewish bakeries are
supplied with flour after all other
bakeries have received their sup-
plies, Jews frequently go without
food for days after waiting inter-
minable hours in long lines.
Deaths from starvation are in-
creasing daily with no prospect
of aid in view. Nazi authorities
