Nazis Seize Jewish Girls for
Military Brothels; Death
Toll Rises

AMSTERDAM. (WNS)—Fresh
reports of the seizure of young
Jewish girls on the streets of
Warsaw by uniformed Nazis who
carry them off to brothels estab-
lished by the German Army in
all military zones were brought
here by refugees who escaped
from Nazi-occupied Poland.
Proof that the seizure of Jew-
ish women is done with official
Nazi sanction was seen in the
fact that the girls are crowded
into military trucks on the pre-
text of performing "special nec-
essary work". The girls are never
seen or heard from again.
The refugees reported also that
bread rations for Jews in War-
saw has been set at a half a
pound per person each week.
Jewish ration cards are of a dif-
ferent color than those issued to
Poles and may be used only in
Jewish bakeries, of which there
are only a few in the entire city.
Since the Jewish bakeries are
supplied with flour after all other
bakeries have received their sup-
plies, Jews frequently go without
food for days after waiting inter-
minable hours in long lines.
Deaths from starvation are in-
creasing daily with no prospect
of aid in view. Nazi authorities
have isolated all the Jewish corn-
