Nazi Invasion
Rumania Deprives
250,000 Jews of
Citizenship
AMSTERDAM, (WNS) —
Fears were expressed in Jewish
circles in Belgium and Holland
that the Nazi war machine would
invade the low countries in a
new "blitzkrieg" similar to that
which marked the occupation of
Denmark. •
These fears were heightened
by a broadcast from Copenhagen
in which the Nazi announced a
"new and glorious era" and said
that the Danes had been liber-
ated from "Jewish domination."
It was learned here that many
prominent Jewish citizens in Co-
penhagen were arrested immed-
iately after Nazi occupation.
LONDON. (Palcor Agency)—
ThA the abrogation of the re-
cent Palestine land restrictions
as well as of the whole White
Paper policy of last May is a
necessary prelude for the re-
sumption of work leading to
the advancement of both the
Arabs and the Jews of Palestine
is the tenor of a letter published
in the London Times over the
signatures of Lord Cecil, presi-
dent of the League of Nations
Union; Lord Lytton, former Civil
Lord of the Admiralty and Vice-
roy of India; Lord Snell, Labor
Opposition Leader in the house
of Lords, and Lord Meston, Lib-
eral Leader in the House of
Lords.
The four British Lords make
particular protest against the
fact that the government an-
nounced the restrictions of land
sales to Jews without awaiting
the approval of the League of
Nations for any such action, de-
spite the fact that the majority
of the Permanent Mandates Com-
mission, which considered the
matter exhaustively last June,
declared that the MacDonald
White Paper did not conform
with the dictates of the Mandate
over Palestine granted to the
British government by the League
of Nations.

sympathetically, it was said, and
intervened in their behalf.
It was learned also that Jews
in Denmark have been making
desperate attempts to escape in-
to Sweden. At present writing
there are approximately 7,200
Jews in Denmark, 1,200 of them
refugees from Germany.
