Seek Cooperation

"We must realize, however,
that such an ambitious project
can be successful only with the
cooperation of each and every
Jewish woman in Detroit," said
Mrs. Isaac Gilbert, vice-chairman
of the Women's Division, at an
organizational meeting held with
Mrs. Abraham Srere, chairman,
other officers and the advisory
board of the Women's Division.
At this meeting, also, Mrs.
Douglas I. Brown, chairman of
the program committee, an-
nouncced that outstanding speak-
ers have been invited to address
the various meetings to be held
by the workers in the course of
the Women's Campaign.

Leaders Congratulate Group

Detroit leaders who for years
have headed the organizational
set-up of the Allied Jewish Cam-
) paign in various capacities have
I greeted the organization of a
.') Women's Division for the second
I year with enthusiasm and ex-
pressed their satisfaction with
the fact that it will become a
permanent organization.
Gus D. Newman, president, and
Irving W. Blumberg, chairman
of the board of directors of the
Detroit Service Group, sent the
following letter to Mrs. Abraham
Srere as chairman of the 1940
Women's Division:
"Congratulations to the Jew-
, ish women of Detroit, on the
pioneering work you did last year
when the entire idea of a Wom-
en's Project was new—when you
had to create an organization and
sell it like a new product, to the
entire community.
"That you did a swell job is
evidenced by the rapidity with
which yea are organizing a Wom-
en's Division this year. We, with
many years of campaign experi-
ence behind us, are amazed how
swiftly ,tid smoothly the Worn-
en's Di -,, ision has become a per-
manent 'og in the Allied Jewish
Campaign machinery.
"Believe us — you have our
heartie s t welcome!"
Israel Ilimelhoch, most enthu-
siastic then the Women's Divi-
sion Cmpaign was announced,
stated:
"I am happy to know the
Worner.' Division of the Allied
Jewish Campaign has become a
permanent organization and will
serve ar the vanguard for our
drive again this year. Detroit's
Jewish women are to be con-
gratulated for assuming their
rightful place as individuals of
responsibility in the community."
Most appreciative of the Wom-
en's Divisions becoming the ad-
vanced guard and the spearhead
of 5, Allied Jewish Campaign,
Fred M. Butzel said:
"The Women's Project of the
Allied Jewish Campaign last year
