JEWS ENCOURAGE SUPPORT FOR
POLISH RELIEF BAZAAR HERE

Pioneer Women's Organi-
zation Activities

In response to an appeal from
the Polish Relief Committee for
support of the bazaar taking
place at Dorn Polski, the Detroit
branch of the Federation of Po-
lish Jews went on record urging
the Jewish community to support
the relief effort.
Proceeds from this bazaar,
which will continue through next
Sunday, will go for all war suf-
ferers and refugees, regardless
of faith, and will be distributed
through the American Red Cross.
The Detroit District of the
Federation of Polish Jews ap-
pealed to the Jewish merchants
to contribute articles as gener-
ously as possible. It also ap-
pealed to its members and Jews
in general to visit the bazaar-
and to attend it in a group,
Thursday evening, March 14. All

officers and active members were
then guests at the bazaar.
The emergency campaign to
raise funds for the transmission
of the clothing to the Polish war
refugees and for the maintenance
of the information bureaus in
the neutral countries which are
contacting relatives of the refu-
gees in this country, has been
warmly supported until now, and
will soon be closed so as not to
interfere with the Allied .Jewish
Drive. The Detroit district there-
fore appeals to those who haven't
as yet paid their pledges to do so.
Donations and contributions can
be sent to the office of the Fed-
eration at 9124 Linwood Ave.
Articles of clothing are being re-
ceived at the warehouse, 8774
Linwood, or by calling Tyler
4-5913 a committee will call
for it.

Each of the six units compris-
ing the Pioneer Women's Organi-
zation in Detroit reported the
amounts raised so far this year,
at the General Council meeting,
Feb. 28, at Mrs. Philip Lipson's
home. Club 1 has sent in to the
New York office $2,200; Dexter
group, $1,300; Achduth, $110;
D•o•a Kadimah and the new He-
dera group, $700; Goldie Meyer-
son, $225, and the Masada group
$200.
Group 1 has been busy fulfill-
ing its Palestine Labor Campaign
quota. On March 4 it held a Pal-
estinian evening. About 100
members and friends attended
and $200 was raised. Mr. Dorn-
bey and Shoshanah Brooks gave
a rich and varied program. Mr.
Koshinsky was the guest speaker.
